- All solutions are produced using Biological Stain Commission (BSC) certified powders
- Crystal Violet stains Gram-positive organisms purple
- Iodine is the mordant in the Gram stain procedure
- The Gram decolorizer is an acetone-alcohol solution
- Gram-negative organisms are stained with the Safranin
